Ms Jayarajan has been working as a Plastic Surgeon for 20 years and is currently based in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Leicester Royal Infirmary. She is a member of Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow (MRCS) and Fellow of the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (FEBOPRAS).
She is also a member of British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (APSI), Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand (ISSH), National Academy of Burns India (NABI), and American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Ms Jayarajan graduated in Medicine in 1993 and qualified as a Plastic Surgeon from India in 2002 after initially taking a post graduate degree in General Surgery. Subsequently, she completed her fellowships in cleft lip and palate surgery and hand surgery. She worked as Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery in India till 2007 and in the Ministry of Health, Brunei from 2007 to 2010. She then permanently moved to the UK. From 2011 she has been working in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Her special interests are general plastic surgery and skin cancer surgery including sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) for malignant melanoma. She is a core member of the Skin Cancer MDT in University Hospitals of Leicester.
