About Summerfield Healthcare

Summerfield Healthcare was established in 2015 as a private GP surgery in Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton, offering a range of patient services in a relaxed private setting, affording GPs and specialists the time to offer patients an excellent, comprehensive service, without the pressure of targets and extensive waiting lists associated with the NHS. Since then, we have opened additional clinics in Birmingham and Cardiff.

We offer private GP consultations and referrals, health checks and well person medicals as well as consultant services such as minor surgery, paediatrics, blood tests, dementia memory clinics and orthopaedic surgery.

We believe that patients should be encouraged to stay on top of their health and not deterred from booking appointments with their GP, especially at a time where it is becoming increasingly difficult to get an appointment with your own GP or specialist on the NHS within a satisfactory timeframe.

Our aim is to deliver a level of patient care that means our patients immediately think of Summerfield Healthcare the next time they need to see a doctor.

Initially hours will be to suit you with around 1-2 half day clinics per week.

Remuneration is discussed once you have made contact with our team.

Who we are looking for

Although there is no minimum number of hours you will be contracted to complete, in our experience doctors who begin working with us soon want to increase their hours due to their enjoyment of the work.

We are seeking candidates who display a level of commitment to our private healthcare service, an ongoing project which involves us upscaling our services and availability as we grow busier in Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton. We are looking for clinicians who are interested in part time work with the possibility of increasing hours as we increase patient volumes.

We are recruiting:

  • Doctors on the GP register for GP services
  • Surgeons at either registrar level or on the specialist register for minor surgery and outpatient procedures
  • Nurses and HCAs to assist our doctors and run nurse clinics
