An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple test that allows you to monitor your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity.
It is used alongside other tests to help diagnose and monitor conditions affecting the heart, such as arrhythmias, coronary heart disease, heart attacks and cardiomyopathy.
Recent cases of heart issues have been in the media, most notably the footballer Christian Eriksen suffering from a sudden cardiac arrest whilst on the pitch. An ECG is an effective way of monitoring heart health in order to minimise the possibility of any heart-related complications.
Summerfield Healthcare now also offer an ‘ECG at Home’ service. You will receive a mail-order ECG Holter to monitor your heart activity during exercise and recovery. If you would like to begin collecting data about your heart or to scan for any underlying conditions and want results quickly, you can book an ECG below.
*Please note, Summerfield Healthcare is a non-emergency service. If you are experiencing chest pains, any numbness or tingling, please visit A&E urgently.
Every year our vehicles get an MOT – to make sure everything is working correctly and ensure they will be roadworthy for the next 12 months.
Our bodies work hard every single day and there are many things that can go wrong if problems are left unchecked. Some health problems can also progress without you knowing they are there, and if discovered too late, treatment may be harder, or even ineffective.
A full body MOT health check not only checks all aspects of your health but allows you time with a medical professional who can give you answers to any niggling questions you may have. It also monitors improvements if you have taken on a healthier lifestyle and are looking to see the results that lifestyle is bringing.
Summerfield Healthcare offer a range of health checks and well person medicals to suit you, including a standard health screening.
We appreciate that if you want to be seen quickly, you do not want to be kept waiting with lengthy insurance and sign-up processes which is why we simply take your details and book you in for your GP consultation.
Private Scan Referrals
Scans and X-rays are a diagnostic procedure used to get more information about bones, joints, and certain medical conditions in a quick and painless way. They can also show changes to tissues and organs that help in the diagnosis of serious medical conditions. Scans and X-rays are usually used to help diagnose:
Arthritis | Bone cancer | Bone fractures and infections | Breaks or Injuries | Breast Cancer | Certain heart problems | Fluid in the lungs or lung cancer | Osteoporosis | Swallowed objects or obstructed digestive tract
Although your NHS GP may refer you for scans or X-rays, depending on your condition you may have to wait a long time for an appointment or results.
At Summerfield Healthcare, we understand that if you have suffered an injury through your sport or fitness regime, you want to get back to health as soon as you can. If you would like to fast-track your scan, get in touch today or book a consultation with one of our GPs.
