Paediatrician Shrewsbury

Your child’s health and wellbeing are your number one concern, and we understand that you want the best paediatrician to take care of your child’s medical conditions and needs. We offer private medical services for one-off visits and chronic conditions, and we can provide a second medical opinion if you are unsure of a diagnosis your child has already received. Our services are comprehensive and include common concerns such as behavioural and developmental diagnoses, eczema and other skin conditions, and asthma and breathing difficulties.

At Summerfield Healthcare we have a team of experienced paediatricians available for private consultations for infants, children, and adolescents. Our paediatricians have NHS experience of examining and treating a range of childhood and medical issues.

We understand how important it is for families to have adequate time to properly discuss their concerns without feeling rushed out of the door. We also understand that some things take longer to examine, discuss, and diagnose. It is vitally important that your child is seen by a trustworthy specialist who is able to give you the time, dedication, and commitment in order to meet your child’s medical needs.

Do I need a referral?

As Summerfield Healthcare operates independently, you will not need a referral from a GP or other doctor.

When you come in for your consultations and any follow-up visits, your paediatrician will summarise your child’s consultation and recommendations in a letter to your GP to ensure medical records are kept complete.

If you have already been referred, you may send this to us to share with the Paediatrician prior to your appointment.

Can I opt back into the NHS for further treatment?

You are under no obligation to continue with private clinics following your consultation with Summerfield Healthcare. We are also happy to consult to give you peace of mind while you await your NHS referral.

Any further referral or testing deemed necessary by our Paediatrician can be directed to further private services, or back into the NHS system.
