Private Varicose Vein Removal | Varicose Vein Surgery | Available in Wolverhampton

Particularly in times of summer and sunny weather, having varicose veins can constantly linger at the back of your mind and cause a great deal of distress. Varicose veins are simply enlarged, bulging and swollen veins found on the legs and feet. This makes them highly visible and their appearance can cause embarrassment or decrease self-esteem.

Although this procedure is available on the NHS, you must fit into a strict criteria and the waiting lists are long. If you are outside of the criteria for the NHS, then the procedure is generally classed as a ‘procedure of limited clinical value’. This is a term applied to a range of elective surgical procedures that they no longer wish to fund, unless in limited cases.

If you would like to take steps to have them removed without having to wait, please feel free to get in touch with us and book a consultation below.

When to Consider Varicose Vein Removal

Most people don’t realise that there are options for treating their varicose veins and leave them until they cause pain or are causing distress because they are unsightly. If you have varicose veins and want to seek treatment, you can make an appointment to see our consultant today. There are very few risks involved in sclerotherapy as it is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that can be performed quickly and efficiently.

Our varicose vein removal clinic offers state of the art facilities and experienced clinicians who will ensure you receive the best treatment and are fully informed before agreeing to the procedure. When you use Summerfield Healthcare private services, you do not need a referral and you can choose to have cosmetic surgery done whenever you feel it is right for you.

The procedure

The ClosureFast procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. Using ultrasound, your physician will place the catheter into the diseased vein through a small opening in the skin. The small catheter will then deliver heat to the vein wall, causing it to shrink and the vein to seal closed. Once the diseased vein is closed, blood will naturally reroute itself to other healthy veins within the body.

Most patients have reported feeling very little, if any, pain or discomfort during the ClosureFast procedure. Your physician should give you a local or regional anaesthetic to numb the treatment area.

The learn more about the ClosureFast procedure in more detail, you can visit the Medtronic website.

Support and Aftercare

After the procedure, a bandage will be placed over the insertion site, and additional pressure may be applied in a bid to aid healing. You will be encouraged to walk, to take it easy and refrain from excessive standing and strenuous activities for a period of time to be determined by your physician, with patients typically resuming normal activities within a few days of the procedure.
