ONS Diet Survey Reveals the UK underestimates how many calories we comsume.

A third of people in the UK underestimate how many calories they are eating, according to an analysis of Office of National Statistics data.

Public Health England chief nutritionist Dr Alison Tedstone said under-reporting of calorie intakes “has always been a feature of all diet surveys”.

Eating habits are changing with more people choosing to eat out, snacking on the go, larger portion sizes and many calories taken in through alcohol consumption all of which can have an effect on your health and your waistline.
