Are you planning to fly soon?
Whether you are flying for business or pleasure many airlines now require passengers to have a fit-to-fly test certificate for international travel.
This certificate needs to be obtained before you head to the airport and shown before you board your flight.
What do you need to do?
Check with the airline you are flying with to see what you need to do to be eligible to fly with them.
Emirates were one of the first airlines to introduce testing before flights. They are asking all passengers to have a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate. The certificate must be for a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) swab test taken a maximum of 96 hours before departure.
Other test certificates including antibody tests and home testing kits are not accepted in Dubai.
Passengers are asked to take an official, printed certificate – SMS and digital certificates are not accepted.
Check the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for country-specific any travel advisory notices of the country you are flying to – even if you don’t technically need a coronavirus test to board a flight, you may require one to enter your destination.
Getting a fit-to-fly certificate
Buy a test that ensures an official watermarked certificate of your result emailed to you promptly that is suitable for international travel.
Summerfield Healthcare certificates are certified by a GMC licensed doctor. The certificates are compatible with Emirates requirements if they are the airline you are flying with.
How long will health screening for international travel last?
These types of measures may become an increasingly prominent part of the travel experience over the next few months as airlines look to ensure they can continue to operate effectively.
