It’s a big tick from the CQC

Shropshire’s only independent Private GP provider pass inspection with flying colours

The practice was inspected in May 2018, now the report has been published and it is pass for the Shropshire based company.

Special praise was given to the GP led management structure, citing “they had the experience, capability and integrity to ensure high quality care was delivered to patients”

Summerfield Healthcare started treating patients in March 2016. Its patients use SHC for private GP and procedures of limited clinical value which, due to budget restrictions the NHS can no longer provide.

These would include minor dermatology surgeries, thread vein treatments and vasectomies.

“The need for services hasn’t gone away, NHS doctors rightly are prioritising acute disease such as cancer treatments over non-life threatening procedures because of budget restrictions. If the NHS can’t, then patients will turn to the private sector”

The CQC regulate all medical practices, private or public, with a pass or fail. Failure means that the clinic has to close.
