Memory clinic diagnostic assessments: Computerised Tomography brain scan and formal diagnosis from – £1499
You will have a thorough assessment from our team of specialist mental health nurses.
This consultation will last for around 2 hours, we will assess the patient’s condition using recognised problem solving tests and provide pre diagnostic counselling.
We will complete a physical examination including an ECG and take a sample of blood for analysis.
A scan will then be organised for the patient. Patients will require a brain scan as part of the assessment as this is important in diagnosing dementia or to see if there are any other causes for the memory loss. We have arrangements with several private scanning facilities; they provide excellent quality scans in newly refurbished departments at locations throughout the UK.
Dr Chandrashekar Basavaraj will provide a comprehensive diagnosis following the assessments, he will alos provide a treatment plan and post diagnostic counselling.
A private prescription for antidementia medication will also be provided.
Follow-up appointment with the Memory Team – £199
Usually around 4 months after starting treatment, our service will arrange to see you again to assess your memory and general functioning.
If medication has been prescribed the side effects and effectiveness will be reviewed, as well as this adjustments to the medication can be made.
At this point we can provide recommendations to your GP with regards to treatment.
Lasting Power of Attorney (property and affairs or for welfare issues) – £400
Following the assessment we can complete all necessary Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) documentation and forward to the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG).
An LPA can be made for health and welfare and/or property and affairs. The registration fee to the OPG is included.
