Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist

Dr Andrew Kiridoshi (MBBS BSc MRCPsych) is a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr Kiridoshi graduated in Medicine from University College London and has subsequently completed all of his postgraduate training in the North West.

Dr Kiridoshi is employed in the NHS and is Associate Clinical Director for Older Adult Services as well as an Undergraduate Tutor for his NHS Trust.

He has expertise in mental disorders affecting older adults and in completing cognitive assessments and diagnosing dementia which can range from Alzheimer’s Dementia, Vascular Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease Dementia through to more unusual causes of cognitive impairment including various reversible causes. He has expertise in assessing and managing a wide range of mental disorders including depression, anxiety and psychosis.

He is experienced in managing complications of dementia using both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. In addition Dr Kiridoshi is an Approved Clinician and Section 12(2) Approved doctor and has experience in medico-legal matters, especially with regards to the Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act.

He is conscientious, professional in manner and places great emphasis on good communication skills. He also has a keen interest generally in the mind and consciousness.
