Lead Testing

The Lead test is used to determine the concentration of lead in the blood sample.

If lead poisoning has already been diagnosed, this test can monitor levels during treatment. These tests ensure your employees are fit to work and that you have the controls in good working order including medical surveillance.

Why take the test?

Working with lead can put your health at risk, causing symptoms including headaches, stomach pains and anaemia.

Serious health effects include kidney damage, nerve and brain damage and infertility.

The Control of Lead at Work Regulations 2002 (CLAW) places a duty on employers to prevent, or where this is not reasonably practicable, to control employee exposure to lead.

Ensure your employees are fit to work and that you have the controls in good working order including medical surveillance.

The Lead blood test is used to determine the concentration of lead in the blood.

If lead poisoning has already been diagnosed, this test can monitor levels during treatment.

Why take the test?

Isocyanate exposure has been identified as a health hazard with exposure to causing sensitisation and occupational asthma.

Isocyanates are widely used in industry but have particular application in spray painting, foam and polyurethane manufacture and in adhesives. The Health and Safety Executive recommends that those likely to be exposed to isocyanates should undertake biological monitoring annually to check that exposure is being adequately controlled.

Monitoring isocyanates can demonstrate whether the control measures in place are working and the processes in place are being followed correctly.

Results

After your test, you will receive results by email. You will then be able to use these to discuss with a Doctor.
